Pavani strives to spread the artform and collaborate with musicians globally.
My Mission
After attending multiple weddings, parties, and events lacking live tunes, Pavani wondered why? After all, music and dance is an integral part of Indian culture. After diving into the current landscape of the South Asian wedding industry, she discovered a majority of violinists playing Indian genres are trained solely in Western classical music and are of non-Indian ethnicities. Pav realized there was an opportunity for her to make a difference as playing songs one grows up hearing hits differently. With her Indian classical training, Pav shifts the focus from two notes at face value to the magic between two notes, a concept that truly makes Indian music unique.
Strings by Pav
Pavani founded StringsbyPav as a platform to promote performing various genres through traditional Indian styles of playing the violin. StringsbyPav aims to showcase Indian instrumentalists, specialized in Indian art forms, playing Indian music at different events. Pav hopes to bridge various genres with Indian music while promoting the traditional Indian classical arts. A distinguishing feature of StringsbyPav is her twist on Indo House mashups, which she considers to be a spicier alternative to a violin cover. By combining her two favorite genres: House & Bollywood, and a splash of Indian classical improvisation, she creates one-of-a-kind listening experiences.
Her love for Indian classical improvisation continues to challenge her, keep her creativity flowing, and allows her to reach new heights in her curations. Pavani hopes to make an impact in shaping the broader IndoHouse space through her unique twist to mashups.
For the World
Within Carnatic music, Pavani hails from the ‘Lalgudi’ bani, a school known for their ability to closely reproduce the voice on the violin. This unique aspect to her music can be heard as she plays violin covers. Every rendition reflects her commitment to the instrument, arts, and values. Every performance is thoughtfully curated and meticulously planned according to her audience.
As she scales her brand, Pavani is dedicated to constant learning and excellence, as she strives to provide quality music for all to enjoy. As she looks forward, she hopes to support and grow global musical initiatives to provide young violinists with opportunities to learn the Indian Classical arts.
